NovaWeld SignFix 7 – High-Performance 2-Component Structural Adhesive for Demanding Bonding Applications

NovaWeld SignFix 7 is a powerful 2-component structural acrylic adhesive designed for high-strength and durable bonding of metals, composites and engineering plastics. Combining excellent impact strength with high peel, shear and tensile resistance, it is ideal for demanding structural bonding applications in the signage industry as well as in construction, automotive and general manufacturing.

SignFix 7 bonds a wide range of materials commonly used in sign making and fabrication, including aluminium, mild and stainless steel, acrylic, polycarbonate, composite panels, GRP/FRP, ABS, UPVC, wood, stone and ceramics.

Its thixotropic, non-sag formulation makes SignFix 7 particularly suitable for vertical applications and gap filling. The adhesive remains in position after application rather than running or sagging, allowing precise and reliable bonding even on vertical surfaces. Gaps of up to approximately 4 mm can be filled.

A major advantage of SignFix 7 is its ability to achieve strong structural bonds on many substrates without the need for a primer. Once cured, the adhesive provides excellent resistance to shear and peel forces as well as moisture, solvents, lubricants and cleaning chemicals, making it suitable for demanding indoor and outdoor applications.

In sign making, SignFix 7 is particularly suitable for structural bonding of aluminium composite panels, metal components and engineering plastics, as well as for attaching locators and BigHead® fasteners to aluminium composite materials. Beyond signage, it can be used for applications in the automotive, construction, marine, utility and general manufacturing industries.

With an open time of approximately 7 minutes at 20 °C and handling strength reached after approximately 12 minutes, SignFix 7 provides sufficient working time for accurate positioning while still allowing efficient production processes. Full cure and ultimate bond strength are achieved after approximately 24 hours.

SignFix 7 also offers excellent temperature resistance, with a standard operating range from –55 °C to +120 °C. Its high-temperature formulation can even withstand short paint-bake cycles of up to 220 °C for 20 minutes, making it suitable for metal components that are bonded prior to powder coating or oven curing.
