Our daily work involves not only applying graphics but also removing them. Not quite as loved by sign installers as putting up new campaigns, it is often necessary – and exhausting. Who hasn’t already removed film centimeter by centimeter or struggled with adhesive residue? Sometimes, however, it’s easier just to cover up the old campaign. In that case, it’s very important to use a film with good opacity, because the old campaign should not show through in unprinted areas. A film with grey adhesive often helps a bit, or you can use a so-called HOP, a highly opaque film. Sometimes, though, that isn’t really enough, and you need a completely “opaque” film. Even for applications where no light should pass through, a special film is used, called a Block Out.

We wouldn’t be the specialist in specialties and problem solvers if we didn’t have a solution for this. Our new OrangeJET BlockMe Out is made exactly for this purpose.

This is a three-layer calendered vinyl, where the outer layers are white, but the middle layer is black. This completely blocks any ‘see-through out.To make it easy to apply the film without bubbles, we’ve equipped it with an AirFree liner. This allows the film to be applied easily and bubble-free, and the AirFree structure can be smoothed out with the squeegee.
